I was by The Thames outside the National Theatre. I had been hoping to see this year’s Landscape Photographer of the Year competition… but the NT was closed! So given it’s only got a couple of weeks to run, I don’t think I’ll make it this year.
The Thames was somewhere close to low tide (I’m guessing), and there was a bloke patiently walking the sandy banks with his metal detector, frequently stopping to examine what was causing his machine to ring out. I imagine that this is a very… very lonely hobby. If you have a dog though, you are never alone. The dog seemed quite happy either sitting, lying down or attacking its squeaky ball.
