High ISO comes to Covent Garden

This was taken last year. F1.8 and ISO 1600. It was also taken on my D40 which is quite old, so struggles with noise at higher ISOs.  Does it matter though?  I don’t think so.  I like the effect in this.  Most software allows you to add noise anyway.  I think the D40 with 35mm lens is actually a really good combination, as it’s quite a compact package. 35mm on a cropped sensor though can sometimes not feel wide enough though.

    We have a D50 and I’m still blown away at some of the pics I capture with it.

      Yes, some of the pictures I’ve got from the D40 (even with the kit lens), are wonderful. I think that’s why I keep going back to it, especially with a prime lens because then I have to move rather than zoom to get my pictures.
