I’m hoping to enter this into a local competition. I suspect though that they may have seen a lot of photos of Farley Mount. I’m waiting for it to come back from the online printers. A nice lady phoned me up to ask me if I she should cut the white border off, as it will be smaller than the picture size I ordered. I will wait to see how it comes out!
I was once told that a 30mm was too short to be useful for portraits. So what about using a 10-20mm lens? The picture below is taken at 13mm, pretty much stuck 3″ in front of my face. Yes, it’s not flattering… yes, if you took a portrait of someone like that they probably wouldn’t want to pay for it… It’s a portrait though, and taken with something less than 30mm. I also just read an article about the guy who took the photos for the ‘Trainspotting’ poster…. and he used… a wide angle lens (but not so extreme).
