Cowes Week 2017
Every year I try to go to Cowes for one of the days to take photos. Normally the first Saturday, but this year, due to the weather it was the Sunday. It’s not just about the racing. There’s so much going on on Southampton Water, it’s a wonderful place to get shots.
Sailing at Cowes
Taken at one the the many Cowes Weeks I’ve gone to photograph. I like the fact you can get shots like these, combining sailing boats with one of the giant container ships – in this case, coming out of the Port Of Southampton.
Cowes, and not the mooing kind
On Wednesday, I went over to Cowes on the Isle of Wight, for the annual sailing festival. I’ve been most years over the last 16 years, and have been trying to capture pictures since I had my first D40. I always like to look for none boat based opportunities, but it’s mainly yachts and dinghies. This year we were lucky enough to have a boat run aground on some rocks just off shore.
